The 10th of February 2015 is Safer Internet Day (SID) and it is origin comes out the European Union. The purpose is to promote safer and more responsible use of technology and mobile devices, especially amount the youth across the world. We think this message has great applicability to those of us who maintain our youth at heart, though our calendars remind us that we have celebrated a few more rotations around the sun than most.

  1.  Does this post contain too much personal information?
  2.  Could this post be misconstrued and initiate a “flame” war?

  1. Do you have security software running on your laptop/desktop?
  2. How about your smartphone?
  3. What about your tablet?

All devices should be protected to the same level of security.  Most security software include vulnerability scans, and anti-virus software and are available for all devices.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text][box type=”warning” align=”aligncenter” class=”” width=”200″]Use only strong passwords![/box]

  1.  A password should be strong:   98&typNQ}kFn
  2.  Passwords should never be a word from a dictionary or other easily deduced words (like the name of your first pet)
  3.  Use a password management system (manual or application) to keep your passwords in order.
